“I’m With You to the End.”

We recently received one of the most meaningful gifts we’ve ever been given—a handmade piece of artwork from a family we were honored to support through their adoption journey.
This piece, shaped like a life jacket, was created by the adoptive father using reclaimed pew wood from old churches—places where people once cried out in prayer, healing, and hope. One of the churches was even located in a part of town deeply affected by the opioid crisis, now transformed into a safe haven. The symbolism is powerful.
They titled the piece “I’m With You to the End.” It represents Jesus as the ultimate Life Saver, and it’s a reminder of how love, faith, and community can carry us through even the hardest seasons. In their words, we were with them when they needed it most—and this piece is their way of saying thank you.
We are humbled, deeply moved, and reminded why we do what we do. This gift now lives in our space, not just as a beautiful work of art, but as a powerful reminder of what it means to show up for one another.
