Adam Hinkle
Adam Hinkle grew up in Katy, Texas, where he spent his childhood pretending he was Indiana Jones, exploring his family’s 20-acre farm. During junior high, his family relocated to Fort Wayne, Indiana to be closer to extended family. After high school, Adam moved to Colorado to work as maintenance manager at Lost Valley Ranch, a season that proved deeply formative. It was there that he truly committed his life to Christ and met his future wife, Dana Sue Starkweather.
Adam and Dana Sue married soon after and settled in Manitou Springs, Colorado, where Adam worked with Summit Ministries. Beginning in maintenance and construction, he eventually became a project manager, overseeing major building projects including the renovation of the historic 37,000-square-foot Grandview Hotel. During this time, Adam completed a business degree, and the growing family felt called to step out in faith.
In a bold move, with four young children and one on the way, the Hinkles moved to Spring Grove, Illinois to “start something”. That “something” became a business named Creative QT, a children’s storage products company built around Adam’s passion for invention and product development. Along the way, the family became involved and deeply rooted at Meadowland Church in Johnsburg, where Adam serves as an elder, Dana Sue helps lead children’s ministry, and the rest of the family works to some capacity. Also during this time, the family welcomed two more children, bringing their family to six.
The business continued to grow successfully and was sold in 2021. This gave Adam and Dana Sue the freedom to dream about what God might have for them next, Soon after however, Adam was diagnosed with head and neck cancer. Life paused as the family focused on treatment, healing, and sustaining their household. On a brighter note, in the midst of chemotherapy and radiation, God blessed them with the birth of their seventh child.
Since then, unfortunately, the cancer has continued to progress beyond what modern medicine can readily resolve, the family has thoughtfully and prayerfully pursued alternative treatment options that offer renewed hope for meaningful years ahead. By God’s grace, they have been able to meet many financial needs through prior business proceeds, but the next phase of treatment has introduced significant and ongoing expenses—leading them to humbly seek support as they continue walking forward in faith.
