Adona Haase

Spend just a few minutes with Adona and you’ll quickly learn she is full of spunk, joy, faith and courage! Her laughter is contagious, her smile unwavering, and her spirit resilient and radiant.

Despite her disabilities (double-leg amputee, paralyzed arm and partial amputation of the fingers on her dominant hand), Adona greets each day not with bitterness but joy.

Adona has endured the complications of diabetes but never stopped living and serving the Lord with joy in her community and church family. She is single and does not have children of her own, but she takes her call from God to serve His church and His people seriously! She is a faithful servant in Bible Study Fellowship and a true reflection of God’s strength made perfect in weakness.

Adona’s God-given gift with children, is evident with the kids she teaches in her BSF class and all kids that cross her path. Children are interested in Adona, and she is interested in them. She puts kids at ease. She takes the time to answer their questions about her missing legs and then takes the opportunity to share God’s love with them.

Recently Adona has had setbacks. Due to continued mechanical issues with her older model wheelchair-accessible van, she has been confined to her home and struggles to travel independently.

God has provided a newer model van. So now: we are raising funds for two urgent needs:

1) A wheelchair-accessible conversion for her newly gifted van, which will restore independence and make safe travel possible.

2) A new wheelchair that will provide the mobility and support she needs.

The approximate cost to complete the conversion and purchase the wheelchair is $20,000.

God uses Adona again and again wherever she goes, and we desire to help her go! There is no doubt that Adona’s commitment to service humbles those around her. So many things that we take for granted are very difficult for Adona, yet Adona pours love, light and joy into the lives of many. Her faith and sacrificial love for others inspires us. We know that Adona is not alone in this battle. Join us as we trust God to move in his people to provide for Adona’s need.
