On Wednesday, May 13th, our lives changed forever. After wrestling with a respiratory illness, Adelyn was admitted to urgent care after it seemed her condition was worsening. After a short evaluation, she was quickly referred to emergency care and subsequently airlifted to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester.

After a few days of treatment and testing, Addie received a surgically implanted left ventricular assistance device (LVAD) while she awaits a heart transplant. It is quickly apparent that this will be a months long journey.

Aside from the quickly growing medical expenses, there are increasing pressures of transportation, current mortgage, temporary housing,  support for 3-year-old son, Hudson, and other circumstances causing imminent stress on the family.
