We (the Barnes kids) are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. Thank you for loving our mama – we appreciate your prayers more than we can express.

Just to give you a little background… after dancing and celebrating her daughter, Francie’s, wedding reception in late June 2020, Anita began to experience sciatic pain that quickly increased in intensity.  In August, imaging revealed a tumor on her lower spine and a few smaller tumors in her abdomen, and within a few weeks mama was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkins lymphoma and began chemotherapy. Although the cancer showed early signs of responding well to the treatments, repeat imaging soon revealed that she was dealing with a more aggressive lymphoma.

As we all sought the Lord for guidance, it became clear that God (using some dear friends as His instruments for provisions and contacts) was opening the way for Anita to begin a new treatment regiment at M.D. Anderson.  And so… they have just arrived in Houston on 22 NOV 2020. Our hearts and our thoughts and primarily our prayers are there with her – each minute of each day. Our primary prayer is that she will be physically aware of the presence of her Savior and that He will hold her in the palm of His omnipotent hand.

Psalm 20 – A Psalm of David:

May the LORD answer you in the day of trouble! May the name of the God of Jacob protect you!
May He send you help from the sanctuary and give you support from Zion!
May He remember all your offerings and regard with favor your burnt sacrifices!
May He grand you your heart’s desire and fulfill all your plans!
May we shout for joy over your salvation, and in the name of our God set up our banners!
May the LORD fulfill all your petitions!
Now I know that the LORD saves His anointed; He will answer him from His holy heaven
with the saving might of His right hand.
Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the LORD our God.
They collapse and fall, but we rise and stand upright.
O LORD, save the king! May He answer us when we call.
