Ben and Janie Bell

In early January 2022, Ben Bell was admitted to Presbyterian Hospital (Dallas) with shortness of breath.  Ben was diagnosed with COVID-19 and was quickly moved to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Presby, in order to receive more comprehensive treatment. Over the first week in ICU, Ben’s oxygen levels slowly improved, but he then developed a blood clot in his lungs which plummeted his oxygen levels, causing him to be put on a ventilator and sedated.  Over the next 67 days of heavy ventilator support, Ben had multiple complications that varied in scope and intensity, making his road to recovery a long one. Thankfully, he was able to be removed from the ventilator and breathe on his own, however, those 67 days left the rest of his body incredibly weak, both mentally and physically, and in need of thorough and extensive rehab.  Since discharge from Presby, Ben has been in three different facilities to receive necessary healthcare.  It appears that he will have many more months of intensive rehab before being able to be sent home, with home healthcare after that.  Thank you for your help and continued prayers!!
