Carrie Webb

Many of you have walked with us through my breast cancer treatment four years ago and my thyroid removal two years ago. I would have certainly thought by now we would be through this valley, but as 2023 ended we discovered I had a tumor in my saliva gland… another surgery.

Well, I finally made it home! I’m certainly in a very different situation that I thought I would be and trying to find my balance. We had no idea what we were getting into… I’m picking on some bigger things for prayer that are immediate. My kidneys were a serious problem last week and the main reason why I was in the hospital so long. Please pray that the fluid build-up goes away!! The swelling and paralysis is looking like a long-term issue. As I deal with speech therapists and people that might help pray that we can be a positive influence and that I will have patience with the difficulties ahead. Financially, we were not expecting a week in the hospital. Several have asked about food and we would be deeply appreciative for any help as Wendell does the lion share of everything around here! He’s a saint! We will continue to watch how God will receive glory for this, as I’m sure He has a plan. Hard to see right now with being hit from several fronts, but His love is real and unshakeable whether we feel it or not. Love is not a feeling, it’s a truth. Thank you for your love and support and I’ll update as I can. Much love from the Webb clan!

March 8, 2024 Update from Wendell

Carrie was admitted into the hospital with congestive heart failure. Our God is faithful and continues to watch over Carrie with a good team of doctors and nurses. After 10 days in the hospital I sit here in Carrie’s room waiting for the heart catheterization team to prep her for a her heart cath. I am always amazed at the journey God leads us on. ‘Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil for You are with me.’ The question arises: why is the sheep in the valley of the shadow of death? Because the shepherd led the sheep there! I think about Jesus telling the disciples to get in the boat to go to the over side of the sea, knowing that a storm was coming. Why? So that His disciples would know Him better.

We walk through these dark times, scary times, uncertain times knowing the God is still in control. We don’t know what the future holds but we do know Who holds the future. These may sound like mere platitudes, but when we know the Shepherd and keep our eyes on Him those shadows are not as scary.

I’m hoping the next update will be from Carrie which will mean that she is out of the hospital and on the mend.
