Our Psalm 16 Journey

Paula’s Cancer

July 28 was to be the first day of a much needed and eagerly anticipated family vacation. As it turns out, July 28 was the beginning of a year-long battle against cancer. Paula, my precious wife, has cancer.

Paula’s diagnosis is troubling, yet hopeful. Her cancer is considered aggressive but treatable. The plan, as of this posting, is chemotherapy with immunotherapy, surgery, then more immunotherapy.

In addition to Paul’s diagnosis, on July 29, 2018, Cary concluded over 25 years of preaching ministry. His verbal ministry ended because he lost the use of his voice. In April of 2018, Cary was diagnosed with Abductor Spasmodic Dysphonia. Before losing his voice completely, his doctors tried multiple treatments and procedures none of which restored his voice.

Psalm 16:11
You make known to me the path of life;
in your presence there is fullness of joy;
at your right hand are pleasures

You make known to me the path of life;

in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.
