Angels come in a variety of forms. In the case of this Zaxby’s angel, it comes as an accountant named Connie Delay. Many of you may know her for serving as Blake’s Executive Assistant for many years, but she is so much more than that. A dedicated member of the Zaxby’s family for over a decade and a half, Connie has supported franchisees and corporate employees in a variety of ways, not just as a Sr. Manager of Accounting, but as friend, and an all-around fantastic person.

If you have had the privilege to know her, you know that she spreads compassion, kindness, and joy to everyone she meets, and in everything she does. Many of us have been the recipients of her love. Now, it is time for us to return the favor.

Connie was recently diagnosed with an aggressive form of ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis), a nervous system disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord. While it is beginning to debilitate her physically, her mind and spirit remain as strong as ever, in typical Connie form.

This disease is an ugly one, as well as a costly one to treat. But everyone can help, no matter how large or how small. Donations will assist Connie with covering medical expenses as well as ensuring she and her husband, John, are able to fight this disease without the worry of everyday financial expenses. 

We love Connie and we will pray for her as she combats this illness, but let’s do more. Let us all dig deep inside and share the love with her as she as shared with so many of us throughout the years.
