Dejan Jevremov
Growing up you never think about younger siblings going through what my dear young brother Dejan is experiencing now…
He is typically very high energy and always working and always helping the less fortunate through his company. A few weeks ago he felt unusually lethargic in the midst of a remodeling job and went to the VA for a checkup since he was experiencing difficulty in walking. After some extensive testing they discovered he had a fast-growing progressive type of Leukemia. This has been a heart-rending shock that our family is still trying to process. Through a serious of tests, he was deemed to be a candidate for an experimental trial drug study at a leading research hospital in Miami, which we’re praying and believing will produce promising results.
Sara his wife, along with their sons Chris and Rey and our family and friends have really been overwhelmed by this alarming news and are doing their best to navigate these uncertain times. Because Dejan won’t be able to return to normal activities for quite some time, we’ve decided to help the family with things that the VA doesn’t cover such as personal living expenses that keep coming no matter the circumstances. Now that Dejan is in full-time treatment for the foreseeable future, it’s time for us to rally the troops and ask for assistance.
Sara has since had to take on the role of full-time caretaker which forced her to leave her personal businesses aside. Her day-to-day is spent going to the hospital multiple times in one day, and making frequent visits to the VA social worker at another facility to advocate for Dejan to get approved for full VA coverage. The government is not quick to pay 100% for medical costs and this has become an added pressure to an already strenuous situation. On top of all this, there is ongoing required paperwork and VA medical approvals that accompany these treatments through every stage of his treatment which require immediate attention when presented to her…it will be a long haul for the both of them for quite a while.
We believe that our Lord and Creator will one day renew the earth and make All Things New, but until then we fight and pray with his servants as we partake in the restorative process and await His soon return. To that end we’ve partnered with a 501(c)(3) charity to enable friends to contribute tax deductible contributions to their daily expenses as they cross through this valley.
We covet your prayers more than anything and if you feel led and are able to partner with us.
