Gavin Stockwell
Gavin is the kindest, sweetest 12-year-old with the most positive attitude despite everything he’s going through. About 2 and a half years ago he was diagnosed with very high risk Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, he was considered in remission but still in active treatment receiving chemo when this past December he was diagnosed with a second cancer: Metastatic Undifferentiated Pleomorphic Sarcoma. To say we are devastated with this second cancer diagnosis while still fighting the first is an understatement, but we are not giving up hope and will continue to fight. Gav hasn’t had a break from treatment since his first diagnosis, which means well over 2 years of too many chemo treatments to count (through his port, injected into his spine and pills) and radiation too combined with a blood clot, bleed and swelling in his brain which landed him in the ICU on a ventilator. He has been through more than any child should have to. He just wants to live and has fought hard for every single day. He continues to conquer each day with strength and a smile. We have done traditional western medicine and will continue to do so but are incorporating integrative therapies into our protocol as well. Beyond this we are seeking out and considering other alternative therapies as necessary. We have found that anything outside of western medicine is not covered by insurance and gets very expensive very quickly. We just want to save our son and appreciate any help with the expenses incurred in trying to do so. Please also continue to pray for our sweet boy. With so much gratitude, we thank you for your love and support.
