On November 11, 2023, the Lord took my sweet husband, Jason, home. After a 2.5 year cancer battle, Jason received his reward. He had finished well – actually better than well. Up until the very end, he fought hard, trusted in God, and continued to care more about others than himself. I can only imagine his joy as the Lord said to him, “Well, done good and faithful servant…enter into the joy of your master.” (Matthew 25:21)

After Jason passed, my amazing community of support helped me navigate the process of grieving. I also attended GriefShare, which I highly recommend for those who have lost loved ones. About three months after Jason passed, I transitioned from a part-time to a full-time position at our church. It has been a great blessing and very healing to work in a nurturing environment with people who loved Jason and continue to be a source of comfort for me.

My daughters, Morgan and Sydney, are both married and live in other states. They have loving, supportive husbands who have helped them through the loss of their earthly father. Both also have great support from their church and community of friends and coworkers. Morgan blessed me with a grandson on January 31^st and he has been a great joy for our family. Praise God for his provision!

My son, Ethan, has been and is a great help to me. He attended community college this past year even though he was supposed to go away to college. I fully believe this was God-ordained so he could be home with his dad to the end. Ethan continues to help around the house, mow the lawn, shovel the driveway, take care of the dog, etc. As he leaves this August to attend university, I am so excited for him to move toward his goals.

Very soon things will be much different around my house. Once Ethan leaves, I will have to hire some work out since I will not be able to manage it all while working full time. Jason took great comfort in knowing that the Lord would use our gracious and loving community to care for me after he left this earth. And I, as well as my adult children, have been and continue to be well-cared for. Thank you and God bless you for your love and generosity.
