Our Journey with Garnett

There are moments in life that forever change your perspective. This is one of those seasons for our family.

Many of you know our son, Garnett. His smile, his love for music, his determination, and his unwavering faith have touched so many lives. For years, he has courageously lived with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD)and heart at 30% functioning this doesn’t mean he heart has stopped . Today, he is also living with advanced heart failure, and each day has become increasingly precious.

As Garnett’s mom and primary caregiver, my greatest desire is to make every moment count. We are choosing to focus on creating memories, sharing laughter, enjoying music, spending time with family and friends, and surrounding him with the love and comfort he deserves.

Many of you have asked how you can help. First, thank you. Your prayers, encouraging messages, visits, meals, and generosity have been a tremendous blessing to our family.

At this time, we are raising support for several immediate needs that will help us continue caring for Garnett safely at home bills are piling up etc:

Reliable transportation is essential for doctor’s appointments, hospital visits, therapies, pharmacy trips, and creating meaningful experiences with Garnett while he feels well enough to enjoy them.

An electric patient lift will help us safely transfer Garnett between his bed, wheelchair, and other areas of our home. As his mobility continues to decline, this equipment has become an important need for both his comfort and safety while reducing the physical strain on those caring for him.

Additional ways you can help include:

– Praying for Garnett, our family, and his medical team.

– Providing a meal or sending grocery, gas, or restaurant gift cards.

– Helping with errands or light household tasks.

– Visiting Garnett, sharing stories, playing music, watching a movie, or simply spending time together.
