Over the past year, Laura has had several doctor appointments trying to get to the bottom of strange, ongoing symptoms in her back and eye. She didn’t realize these symptoms were connected or where they would lead. By the beginning of the school year, her oncologist informed us her breast cancer was back, this time stage 4 and in her skull and spine. Laura and Mike, her husband, spent the months since collecting opinions, fighting insurance, and figuring out a new plan.
