Living Hope Church Uganda

From a Mango Tree to a Miracle in the Making

“Praise the Lord,” Pastor Andrew Sabakaki begins.

In the eastern part of Uganda, in Mbale City, Pastor Andrew leads Living Hope Church Kamonkoli — a church that began not in a building, but under the shade of a mango tree on November 13, 2022. What started as mobile evangelism grew into a faithful gathering of believers hungry for hope, prayer, and the Word of God.

As the congregation grew and weather conditions became difficult, the church rented property and built a temporary structure so they could continue meeting. For three years they have worshiped faithfully, even in humble conditions.

Recently, however, they received notice that the property had been purchased and they must vacate by November 30, 2025. With four additional churches also meeting under mango trees and in unroofed temporary structures, the need is urgent.

In God’s faithfulness, the church has been blessed with land of their own and the funds to pay the note on it. This is a miracle and a testimony of provision. But there are essential steps still needed before the congregation can gather there each week and meet government requirements for public gatherings.

To serve their community with dignity and safety, they now need:

A septic system installation — approximately $2,500
Tent rental for weekly worship while a permanent structure is designed and constructed — $165 per month
Chairs for the congregation — $500
These are not luxuries. They are necessities for worship, community, and compliance.

What began under a mango tree is becoming something permanent — a lighthouse in Mbale City. Pastor Andrew and his congregation are not asking for comfort; they are asking for the ability to continue serving their people faithfully.

Your support will help provide sanitation, shelter, and seating so that families, children, and elders can gather each week to worship safely and legally.

From the shade of a tree to a place they can finally call home — this is more than a building project. It is an investment in lives, faith, and the future of a growing church in Uganda.

Would you prayerfully consider helping Living Hope Church take this next faithful step?
