Mark grew up in rural Virginia and at age 18, he enlisted in the United States Air Force. While in his seventh year of service, he found Christ through the ministry of the Navigators. After separation from The Air Force, he attended the University of South Florida (Tampa). Upon graduation, he pursued a career in accounting until going on staff with the Navigators.

Patty grew up in Pittsburgh and came to know Christ as a young freshman at the University of South Florida (Tampa). Patty was involved with the campus ministry of the Navigators, and after earning a degree in Civil Engineering, she entered the local work force.

Mark and Patty have served overseas in England and before coming to VMI, ministered to cadets at West Point,(USMA).

Their current Navigator assigment is the Virginia Military Institute (VMI). The Stoneburner’s have three grown children.
