Meaghan Covington
Meaghan’s Great Big Bone Marrow Adventure. At about six weeks old, Meaghan was diagnosed with Diamond Blackfan Anemia. This is a rare syndrome that for Meg meant primarily a failure of her bone marrow to produce red blood cells. After many years of being transfusion dependent, she is experiencing some complications and changes in the cells of her bone marrow that have led to the decision to undergo a bone marrow transplant. She has chosen Joshua 1:9 as the theme verse for this time: “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
